Hey Guys,

I'm using the upgraded Belden Mini RCA's on my Marquee 8500. I snapped the head off of one while removing it from the VNB - I tried a repair solder but I haven't had much luck. Does anyone have a replacement they'd be willing to sell?

Thanks!

Guys, turns out Curt had the stock RCA cables, rather than the thicker Belden (or Canare? can't remember) upgraded cables.

Does anyone happen to have a spare upgraded belden rca cable with the thicker diameter? I can't recall which forum member put these together a few years ago.

Alternatively, I'll keep trying to repair my existing cable. I need to figure out how to solder the mini-RCA end solidly...I've taken a couple of attempts and can get the shield soldered just fine, but the signal part of the cable just pokes into the hole of the male RCA? No solder? Seems so fragile, I must not be doing this right!

judging by that pic, don't you solder the center conductor thru the hole in the end of the connector tip?

I know that's not typical for normal RCA connectors, but on the minis , I dunno , never soldered RCA's before, so ?

I curious if there is any visible difference changing those cables anyway?

I see what you mean - I hadn't even noticed the hole in the tip in the picture. It's probably soldered shut on my connector!

I'll check tonite, thanks!

That got it. I heated the crap out of the connector and blew out the tip with compressed air to clear out the old solder. Threaded the signal wire thru the hole in the connector, thru the tip and soldered the ground and tip. thanks for the keen eye!
