would this be any good for a torus setup?

I doubt it, unless you want to sit about 6-7' from the center. That's a really radical curve. I'd guess it was intended for a full-immersion display, where you're almost "inside" it -- the screen wraps around to include your peripheral vision.

Most torii built by CRTers have a depth of no more than maybe a foot or so.

Unfortunately, I think Gary is correct. That looks to be 128x72. The curve looks to be like two feet deep. Plus the seams would probably be very noticeable. It does look like a cool way to build a Torus though.

Thanks for the input. I though it was a little extreme as well. I think the post said it was used for simulation. Might be pretty cool for someone to make a simulator but like everyone said horrible for TV/Movie watching.

You think you could glue a screen to it like wallpaper or maybe use some sort of epoxy to fill wholes then sand and paint?

Sure. Anything's possible.

The hardest part about using such a torus will be getting projectors that have enough adjustment to focus on such an extreme curved surface. They are custom/special made and as such are very expensive. This is (for example) the Barco SEOS that Jeremy referred to. SEOS (the company) played with the geometry inside the projectors to allow for curved screens. Their Barco mod'ed projectors won't work on flat screens. I don't know how many you'd need to fill such a screen.

yeah, at the price its a no go for sure. I don't think it will sell and if its relisted I hope they add the make an offer option. This will be a garage build for sure .

Are you close by? Shipping is $600.

You could fill in the seams, but it would be a lot of work to get it to look good. You might be able to attach a screen to it, but it would be a challenge.

Interesting design that might be easier to duplicate than buy. It looks like each individual section is one curve not two. They all look interchangeable as well.

lol and for me thats about anywhere ins the U.S. I would never pay that for shipping plus I like the adventure of going to get it. Its half the fun. Anyways thanks for your opinions and insight.

yeah, that's more like it. I am sure at this point they just want it gone. I bet they would take $100 or less for it.
