Currently Club Members are shown the last 14 posts in a handy table at the top of the main forum page.

A lot of people have asked to have this increased or have it be a setting that they can adjust themselves in their control panel.

Putting it in the control panel's a bit of work, so if everyone wants it increased in size anyway, I can do it quickly now.
I want to gauge how you guys would use a setting like this...

Club Members: Let me know what you think by voting above.

For more info see here.

Here's what it looks like now:

More posts.
I voted 25. It is getting busier so the first 14 posts sometimes does not cover some of the recent postings.

People who are not members do not know what you are missing Smile

Thanks for the feedback Bruce. Things getting busier is one reason why I'm re-thinking this.

There's always the 'View all Recent Topics' page that will list days and days worth of newest posts, but after a few months of use now I find that this quick list is a lot handier (at least for me since I'm on the forum quite often Smile).

Kal

I read all the posts anyway, so that the "new posts" marker goes away on the front page next to each thread.

So I'm the one that voted to do away with it, not so much because I hate it, but it serves me no benefit.

But I realize many like it, so it goes in a democracy - oh that's right, this is not a democracy - but it was nice of Kal to ask.

My 2 cents

I voted 20.

I use it a lot, 14 is good 20 seemed like a good compromise.

I never use it. I just start at the bottom and read my way to the top.

Bigger mailbox? Why? Everyone's inbox (not just club members) are already set to 200 messages. You also have a "SaveBox" for important messages you want to save that holds another 200 messages. You're going to have to come with a pretty compelling reason why you'd need to hold more than 400 messages at any given time Barry! Smile This is already more than other place ...

Easy change to make it bigger... but has anyone actually filled all this space and needs to keep all these messages?? To me it just sounds like people don't want to have to bother cleaning out old messages so they want more space. Smile Be aware that yo don't have to actually clean up: Your Inbox and Sentbox are cyclical: The 201st message will cause the 1st one to drop off. So your PM inbox can never be 'full'. Old messages get deleted. Don't want certain messages to get deleted? Move'em to your SaveBox.

I don't see larger avatars as adding any value - Too large and they start to eat up too much screen space... for example, type in a one line answer and you have to scroll down 20 lines because the avatar's so huge.

Our maximum's now are: 150x150 pixels max, 270K. 5-45 times larger than AVS depending how you look at it (their limits are 65x65 with around 6K).

Again, easy change to do, but other than your avatars John, after seeing everyone else's avatars 3-4 times I don't want to or care to see it any more. Smile The larger we make them, the more they'll get in the way of the text.

But again, that's my opinion.... feedback is always useful.

Kal

Kal i was half kidding about that. to me 200x200 or 250 x250 would be great.

Whatever, I really have no complaints!

Thanks Very Happy

OK Kal. I can live with it. was just trying to claw a little more while you were feeling generous.

For some it may be hard to get a picture they like to fit in the avatar space. maybe a quick tutorial on how to do that would aleviate their woes. except for the porn guys. Those guys just want more porn displayed in avatars and nothing will appease them. Mr. Green

If someone's too stupid to know how to Google "how do I resize an image?", we don't want them posting here. Smile

So while 15 votes isn't conclusive, 87% want more posts listed, and 62% of those people want 25 posts. So I've bumped it up to 25 posts for now. Seems like a nice number me. Let me know what you think.
