Just had someone offer me a barco 1101 for 350.00 has sony tubes and under 1000 hrs. From what i read sony tubes are not good. Looks like possible to upgrade to moome hdmi board for 365.00. Is this worth a couple years. I understand by then 4k projectors will be better priced.

Forget it. That is an ancient boat anchor. You'd have to think it twice even if it would be free.

I agree, if you were given it for free, go for it. Additionally, I think 4K projectors are a complete waste of time and money until some decent amount of content is available. I figure that may be 5 years or so.

OK thanks. Someone in the AV business said content is coming. This Christmas could see a lot to be released

of course they said that. They want to sell sets. Smile

Sorry, I'm always the cynic, and I never buy first generation anything. Remember the HD DVD/BluRay fight, and lack of reliability with DVI/HDMI connections? I'll wait.. and wait some more...once everyone else has been the guinea pig and gotten the problems out of a new format, then I'll look at it.
