Hey y'all,

Been using my 2600HD ampro without issue for almost a year now. The other day we had a power surge in the building and the power went out. Not worried about blowing out the projector (it's properly surged and batt backed) but when the battery eventually died the settings went out the window (the backup battery is dead).

No big deal I say, this has happened before...I have the general bright/cont etc numbers memorized at this point. So I plug in my laptop via VGA (thinkpad x250) and the image flicks on and then suddenly shuts off.

The remote is displaying OVER FREQUENCY and I don't quite know why.

I checked the refresh rate and it's 60hz like it's always, the resolution is the same 1366x768 too

The weird thing is when I bump the refresh up to 75hz the out of convergence) image pops up on the screen. But the image is split and mirrored and generally not right.

Also if I plug in my Fire TV Stick or Playstation TV the image works (again out of convergence because I haven't done convergence yet) fine.

I'm assuming this is a laptop thing but I can't seem to figure out a single laptop issue that'd actually cause this problem.

Any help is most definitely appreciated!

I know the 2600hd is supposed to be 55khz scan rate but i've never had this issue before

could that be the cause?

Start with 640 X 480. Check the memory battery on the CPU board. It should be over 3 volts.

You got me thinking Curt, I run the Hd5500 intel card at maintain aspect ratio

switched it to maintain display scaling and it stopped overscanning and image on the screen!

Now I just gotta redo the physical convergences and I should be back in business!

The memory battery on the CPU board is flat, I checked it months ago but because power so rarely goes out here and EM Convergence is usually all I have to do to get it back in line I didn't feel it necessary to pay any sort of money to fix my free projo set up haha

Yeah, well change it NOW! Smile Losing power with a flat battery can cause all sorts of issues. Not so much with the 2600, but I wrote off a bunch of 2000 CPU boards as a result. Spent hours trying to resurrect them and failed miserably.
