TV/Projector: All of them!

OK, so the room is getting close to being done with the sound absorption panels, and I'm really pleased with the results. The bass, while still lacking a bit in level, is much better than it was. In my rectangular-ish 14 X 24' room, offset by the fireplace and the teak wall unit opposite it, we used a full bag of insulation batts. you can now tell as soon as you walk in the room that there's sound absorption happening.

Now, the batts are all behind the panels in the ceiling, and a bunch around the screen. There's none behind the screen, and there's nothing on the back wall.

I can add a bit more if need be, but the question is, do I need to? The whole back wall is covered in thin fabric now that's stretched over the 1X 2 panels. They don't really absorb sound any, nor do I hear any reverberation, but should I add a bit to the back wall, or is the location of the batts not that important, since maybe 30% of the ceiling is covered?

Thanks!

Curt,

if you really want to know you will have to measure. DIY measurements are not too hard to do with some $50 mic, pc and free REW software. However it is kind of time consuming if your're lacking background knowledge and experience. Just like CRT projector tweaking. Hard to cross that red line of picture quality without measuring. However, once you've taken the red pill there is no way back. Sometimes it is just better to enjoy the sound performance than to know about room modes and reverb time.

Cheers
