I cant seem to make the On Screen Display on either of my integra's show up on my screen through the HDMI output. I have a small 12 inch tv I use in the HT running on the video in and it works ok, its even kind of handy because its right beside the Integra and easy to see. In the other room where I am setting up a small digital pj for the kids to play games on I cant seem to make the OSD show up no matter what I do. I have tried the monitor out using RCA, S Video and HDMI (using a fury 3). Nothing seems to work. I have another 12 inch TV with an RCA input for video and that don't work either. Am I just missing something ? I would really like the HDMI to work on this PJ, it would just be so much easier. Thanks. jeff

Two possibilities. First, the OSD can be disabled. Have you checked the menus to see if perhaps it's not enabled? Second, the OSD on the generation of Integra you have wouldn't come up with a 24p source, so if you're trying to mess with it when a BD is playing, it won't show up anyway. Those are the two things that come to mind.

Are you saying that the Integras internal menu will not come on screen just because a source is playing a 24p?

It wont come up if ANYTHING is playing. Both work like that. I unplugged EVERYTHING from the amp then unplugged the amp and let it sit for awhile then plugged in a video cable to the little 12" TV and fired it up and IT WORKED ! I checked and adjusted everything but speaker levels and wired it back up. Everything worked. One small problem now though, it wont play nice with the Fury 3. Just keeps trying to sync but cant seem to do it. I didn't change any settings on the Fury so I have no idea whats up. If I go out of the BD to the Fury it plays fine just cant get video to the PJ through the integra. I can work around it since the Fury has 2 automatic inputs but I need to buy another long hdmi cable then. Its probably something stupid that I am just unaware of, been playing with it for a few hours now with no luck. On the plus side though the monitor out is still working.

Jeff asked about OSD, which means on-screen display, which to me means volume/mute status or source selection, overlaid on the source. With a 24p source, those things aren't active. Now, I'm specifically referring to the generation of hardware that Jeff and I both have, i.e. the 5-year old models. I have a DHC-9.9 processor, and Jeff has IIRC a DTR-9.9 receiver, or maybe it's an 8.9 - I don't recall. I think that limitation was removed a generation or two later… The .1, i.e. 40.1, 60.1, 80.1, etc. perhaps.

However, I now realize perhaps Jeff was talking about on-screen menus - i.e. setup menu.

From my recollection when I had the G70, the internal menus on the Integra would output to 480p. So, even though I was running the Integra in "pass-through" mode, i.e. no scaling of input or outpout, when I'd press the "menu" or "setup" button on the Integra, I'd get a few seconds of black screen, then the menus would come up, in 480p if memory serves. Big, fat scan lines. I was also using an HD Fury 3.

I wonder if perhaps 480p just wasn't set up on the G90 and/or the other projector won't display it or something.

Go into the menus and make sure you don't have an "output resolution" set on the Integra. Make sure it's set to pass-through or native or something like that. That's the only thing I can think of. That, or some kind of handshake or sync issue.

The Integra in the game room is a DTR 7.8 I couldn't find anything that relates to output resolution. No pass through or native or any setting in that regard. It worked fine on my G70 and on my G90 but I had Moome cards in both. I bought the Fury when I first started with my Zenith. Never had the fury connected to anything else.

OK, I guess the 7.8 didn't have scaling. Sorry for the misdirection.

Check out page 45 of the 7.8 manual. A bold note at the section about setting the HDMI Monitor setting to yes, it says, "When Yes is selected, the onscreen setup menus are output by only the HDMI OUT. If you’re not using the HDMI OUT and select Yes by mistake and the menus disappear, turn off your components, connect the AV receiver to your TV with a composite video or S-Video cable, and then change this setting back to No.

Any chance you have HDMI monitor set to "no"? Maybe the HDMI switching still works in that case, but the OSD/menus don't because they're switched to be in the analog signal path. The only thing I can think of at this point.

Still no hdmi output to the digital pj. It is working on a video cable still to a little TV. Still cant get the Integra to work with the Fury 3 either. It outputs a picture to the DPJ through the BD but only if I have the output on the BD set to 1080P if I set it to output 720P or 1080I in flashes the picture. I didn't think that little DPJ would accept it but it does I guess and I am kinda surprised how good the picture is on a 106 inch screen. Much better than I expected. I have been trying everything to try to get the integra to work with the Fury 3 Still no luck. I get the feeling its just the right combination of those tiny dipswitches on the Fury but I am having no luck. The integra starts making a click, click, click noise like its trying to sync but just cant. Very frustrating to say the least.

Unplugged EVERYTHING ! Started from scratch. Changed nothing. It is running through the integra into the fury and @ 720P.
Very happy. Thanks !
