I need a couple of RCA line level to 1/8" mono mic adaptors. Radio Shack sold them for years but no longer list's them. Anyone know of a piece that fits the bill?

Didn't find them just browsing Monoprice, but when I googled "rca 3.5mm adapter mono", that was the first hit. They're also on Amazon, CablesToGo, Parts Express, etc.

Thanks SC, but those are just passive adaptors. The ones I use to see at RS had some electronics in there to adapt the signal levels. they were about 2 inches long and red in color.

So, they took a line-level RCA output and adapted them to a 3.5mm microphone input? What's the use case?

In my case I have a mixing board that has 4 mic inputs, and only RCA line level outputs.

My other thing could be to find an external USB sound card with RCA line level inputs OR a pair of adaptors and a stereo mic input.

I have two high end sound cards here from the HTPC days, not sure if they have the stereo mic inputs or not. I have to check.

I need to get some stereo audio into the PC for my Hallowe'en haunt. I want the voice to slide back and forth across the front of the house. Especially the maniacal laughter and the whispering. Twisted Evil

This was so easy when I recorded to tape...

Jeremy, a simple resistor divider is inside that RCA-jack adaptor. Put an 1k Ohm resistor between the hot pin of RCA and TRS, and put a 10 Ohm resistor between the ground and the hot pin of TRS, and you get -40dB gain.

Thanks! I knew it was something simple. BUT! If anyone has a pair of these please let me know. I'll give them a good home and won't feed them after midnight. Very Happy

What does TRS stand for?? ( Tandy Radio Shack ) Laughing

TRS stands for Tip Ring Sleeve aka. phone jack.
I don't have any of these, I just reverse engineered. Thumbs Up
