There is a jumper on the SMPS that disables standby. Perhaps that jumper is placed?

you either have a fault on the controller board or the SMPS. I can fix them if you want to send them in.

Just mailed with my friend, seems that i didn't got all the information. After turning it on there is no light in the tubes and the set wont power off with the remote. Soon i'll go over and see / hear whats wrong. As he describes the hv isnt coming on and 'a' led is red lit. I'll be posting more when i've been there. Without a good discription of the fault i'ts a needle in a haystack...

And the avatar, made it myself to piss some off Mr. Green

Hi all,

Just had a visit to the cine. Scanfail led is lit on the SMPS. It's a unit from oct. 2001. EHT down led isn't lit on the EHT board and the fuse is OK. I have an 808S for spares but the EHT board doesn't match:
Cine: R7627165
808S: R7617427

The tubes "light up" at the cathode. All leds on the SMPS are green ( except the SF ). All other boards with LED's are green. I can hear a light chirping sound after about 10 seconds by the SMPS. H-scan is green lit on the H-scan board

After a few minutes the chriping intensifies like the HV is coming on, then the complete machine switches off. After this the LED's are dimly lit on the SMPS and other boards

Bad power supply or H or V boards. The only way to narrow it down is to swap in other boards to see which one is bad, or send them to me, and I'll test and repair them.
