I ordered a new 50-2034-02P Focus Board last week and should be here tomorrow. Hopefully.

I thought I had an older version from an 8500 in it, I checked it some weeks ago, but as I ripped it out just now to confirm, as I'm writing this, it turned out to be an 50-2034-02P also. So it seems I remembered incorrectly, as I thought it was an older (?) 50-2004-03P version, which I believe is from an 8500. Anyway, it shouldn't be long before it's up and running again, and if it doesn't I'll get some more boards to try.

Hello

50-2004-03P is from an 8000 and may be part of the problem

Hi Tim.

You may not have read all I said, but 50-2034-02P is the one that I have.. and being replaced with the exact same thing. I thought I had an earlier version but turned out to be false.

The one that I have shows no sign of burning, and one thing that I thought I should have seen if it was toast.

My own bet is on the stigmator board as the CLM it self has been changed now. Still the same.

I'll give you another update.. I changed blue with green and green went silly blurry instead. But Green RGB focus did not work then nor did blue stig. I had to reattach the cables coming from FCM many times before green became normal again. I'm sure it's the FCM now.. It can't be anything else.. it would be very strange if it was anything else.

Hello

You might inspect all of the ICs on the focus board, we have seen a few of them crack after some failures

I would have to ask you to post images on that one as I'm clueless.. but all the same.. the new one is bound to be here some day soon to rule that one out.

ICs?

Integrated circuits or chips, the black rectangular devices with twelve or fourteen legs

The new focus board arrived today but blue stig still wont work.

Anyway, I think I'm homing in on the culprit from reading the link below. It's not spot on directly, but like to have another Stigmator Amplifier Board all the same. It's got to be it..

Stig isn't related to focus at all.

For now, unplug the blue stig connector, and make sure your focus is good along with your mechanical astig magnet adjustments. you should be able to come very close to perfect focus with a working focus board and properly set stig magnets on the neck of the tube.

The electronic stig settings are just icing on the cake.

Will respond to your email in the next couple of days.

I know.. but not every one gets a 8500 Ultra just like that - for free! Smile

I do have a smaller pile of boards now, and steadily growing, so I think I should be covered pretty soon.

As for the stig on blue matter.. that can't be corrected with magnets alone, as it sits because it's just to bad, and resetting the pj has no effect at all. I need to get the stig working so that I can null those numbers out and start from scratch, and doing so with the connectors off next time.

As bad as it is I can watch movies though.

Hey, Kurt.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but is that room your theatre or your workplace? Both? You plan on building a dedicated theatre later or do you have another room for this in mind? I mean, with that big house of yours, and all that money spent on gear and projectors, shouldn't you make an effort trying to make it just a little bit cosy?

I have a lot of stuff to, but I dumped my stuff on the kitchen table for now. When all the parts are back, I'll put everything back together and enjoy a meal in there. Someday.

This is my messy corner, where i play with it all when i have time.

Im working on a HT room, 35m2 and it will be all dark/ black, and im also building a room just for stereo gear, so i hope to be able to have space for most of the gear i have collected.

For now ill have to do with the space i got, while rebuilding.
