I like the woodwork! Chairs look pretty nice as well.

That's sweet ! I have a question though, wouldn't putting the rear surrounds in foam be like "flying" them ? Which I am told ruins bass.

I wonder how big the screen is. All I can think of is that one of these two issues has to exist:

(1) Picture too small because seats are behind the projector, far away from the screen.
(2) Picture too dim because screen is too large.

I would have ceiling mounted so that the projector was above the seats.

Rear speakers don't need to reproduce any bass really. The speakers look like they are Lowthers, British made.

Agreed. Sitting behind CRT yields a horizontal viewing angle that's usually smaller than the SMPTE and THX-recommended minimums of 30 and 26 degrees, respectively.

All I know is I wish I had a room that SIZE. A big room can just sound so good - and more seats that sound and look good.

I hope my next room can be about 20 x 30 (6m x 9m). I want two rows of four seats, or maybe 4 in back, 5 in front, so I can still have my centered sweet spot. Big, wide scope screen. I'm thinking 12 feet (3.5m) wide.

Been looking at bigger houses lately and dreaming… Just don't want the mortgage and property tax payments to go with.

perhaps the ceiling is only a tent and cannot support the weight of a CRT

Same lines I was thinking. It is hard to see the ceiling, but I do see some lights up there. It may not be feasible to mount one on the ceiling. It is the same issue I am dealing with. My CRT will not go on the ceiling, so it is either on the floor or behind the couch.

Just build a 'loft' over the sofa like in a college dorm room, and hang the G90 from that. Wink

Don't laugh, there's a local guy that did just that. Had a very narrow living room, so be built a frame that went under the couch, up the back wall, and the BArco 808 suspended over the couch. Worked like a hot damn.

I can only dream of having a nice room set up like that. I just don't have the space.
My 1272 is ceiling mounted in my living room because of lack of floor space, my house doesn't have the room for a separate home theater. And my living room isn't very large
I envy all you guys with dedicated rooms

Fostex, pretty sure (similar look to Lowther).

Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I am going to laugh, because I am out of my teens. The amount of work and money I am putting into my modern design apartment won't be ruined by an ugly install of a CRT pj.
