I can't seem to find the calculator I had for screen sizes so thought I'd run it past you guys.

I'm finally $hit caning the Da-Lite el-crapo manual pulldown (it has something like a .8x gain) and building a screen.
I bought about 6 yards x 54" of BOC. (I know it's more width than I need).
I plan on a vertical viewable of 54" and understand from other posts here that it will stretch plenty for me to get it onto a 54" frame.

I just wanted to check my math before building the frame...the width would be 54 x 1.78 correct? (For a total of 96.12").

TIA

Greg

ratio |ht. |width |diagonal
1.33 |54 |71.82 |89.856064
1.78 |54 |96.12 |110.24996
2.35 |54 |126.9 |137.91160

made a quick excel spreadsheet.
easy to plug in different values

Thanks joust! Printed and added to the HT "bible".
I built the frame last night. I used the plans for the most part that are posted on the main site. Instead of screws I used lots of wood glue, wooden pegs, biscuits and a brad nailer.
Not all I have to do (all?) is stretch the BOC. 54" frame---54" material. CZ Eddie and Kal say it stretches alot. I believe them but they didn't say how many days it took for their hands to recover. Laughing All I used my hands for is typing and holding a fork...they're in for a beating. Laughing

Thanks again for the fast reply!

Greg

That would be great. Perhaps asking Kal if he wants to post it on the main site or make it a sticky in the screens would be even better. That way everybody can benefit from your contribution.

Thanks again. Thumbs Up

Greg
