In order to preserve my VV1, I have repaired a 5 year old EPSON projector for general stuff for the kids and their DVD's. The VV1 will now only play movies. I am not sure what it is but I prefer to watch sports in a lit room. So will use the digital or plasma for that. My projector is near mint and I want to keep it that way as long as I can. Now my next question is cleaning the thing. It has a normal amount of dust in it. What is the best solution for cleaning it? I have used canned air in the past but this thing would take 8 cans to get it all out. Does anyone use a static free vacuum? And where are the critical areas to clean where the dust hides?

I use compressed air to clean dust off, but I have two compressors. For a more thorough cleaning, I go the wet route with a cleaning solution and water rinse. I follow this with compressed air to blow the excess water off the boards.

Nah, I don't recommend water with SMT stuff unless you're washing leaking capacitor electrolyte off the board. Not an issue with the Marquees.

the LVPS gathers the most dust, I had one here the other day that was almost completely plugged up, go figure. A 50-80 PSI compressor and a nozzle is what I use.
