1) Should crt projectors be left plugged in?
The battery that maintains the memory: Does it get recharged when the the pj is plugged in/turned on?

2) I read here once, I think it was Curt: "Very short duration power interruptions can be damaging.
The 9500 sounds like a fan is running all the time it's plugged in.

No point being pessimistic; it probably would't work anyway.

I'ts up to you. I leave mine plugged in but will change that soon to save power.

No

I have had them with no damage that i know of. But I also use an Isolation Transformer for my whole theater.

yes the LVPS is on all the time since the 5 volt stand by power supply in the LVPS is always running
so it can accept the IR commands when off.

It's the Sony G90s that can nuke tubes with a brownout. I've never seen a Marquee do it... and I've tried!

Hmmm, I have to assume that the best thing for the G90 would be to unplug the unit?

Thanks.

Change the Dallas chip, and put a UPS on it, is my recommendation. if the set is off, there's no chance of nuking the tubes.

Cool. Craig changed the Dallas chip a couple of years ago and I still have the old one for back-up. Don't know why I have not considered a UPS, too lazy and forgetful. BTW, where am I right now?.? Embarassed Lol!

Don't want to derail this, but any suggestions on the UPS?

Thanks.

1000VA. I get my used ones from the recycler, always with dead batteries, then eBay another set of batteries. Should be $100-200 for batteries. Don' think the whole UPS is that cheap, but maybe..
