Yes, that piece was hanging on by a thread, jammed into the slot, so I put it out of its misery and ripped it out.

I bought a 2008 VDC Marquee 8500 Ultra for 74 bucks from some surplus place in GA. I was the only bidder.
I knew the VIM was smashed as it looked like a fork lift hit it . Curt was passing close to GA on his trip so I asked him to
stop by and pick up the parts for me and leave the chassis , tubes etc.
