I found one on Craigslist I'd like to possibly buy. Though, I want opinions on possible prices, etc.
It's probably working (having him confirm) and he states slightly worn green tube, has manual and remote.
No other info on it.
What would you guys suggest I offer? Or could you expect to get for a working decent G70?
Keep in mind there's also a barco 1208s for sale with brand new tubes and refurbished (supposedly) for $400 around the same area.

'Slightly' worn green can be all over the map. 
G70 tubes are discontinued, but a lightly worn green can last a few more years. Offer under $200, go up to $250 depending on the wear. The 1208s is most likely a better deal if the tubes are new, although the G70 outperforms the 1208.

Yeah I want pictures (If I can see it on this one) and want to know more details. Good to know I have a nice starting point though.
I have to agree, the 1208 sounds like a better deal with less work, but I dont know if I can live with knowing I could have had better Picture Quality by driving to a different house near by.

I live in middle of nowhere texas. (West quite a ways)
i've been looking at these forums heavily for the last month and reading up on things. I want to just kinda Dive into it and figure it out from there. I'm very tech savvy and have always prided myself on being able to do anything I put my mind to.
This is more to give me something to do rather than a full on home theater purpose right now. I want to learn it and mod and figure it out. THEN go all hardcore G90 or Marquee 8500LC or Barco Cine 9 or which ever I decide on down the road.
I just need some place to start, but dont want to start at the bottom of the pile. Not too worried about seeing one up close just yet as I've seen a lot through the screenshot thread.
I kinda know what to avoid at least!

if the barco really has new tubes, get it! its a quiet machine capable of great pic, and there are a lot of parts around for it. most parts ( main cards ) you can swap without tools.
G70 are great but in my opinion a bit harder to work on and eat the tubes much faster. also the tubes are harder and more expensive to find, if you keep it long enough to wear them out.
dont buy any nonworking projector, u dont want some elses mess and good ones are cheap already.
if you want to tinker with it get any marquee and later swap tubes/lenses etc. if you just want a great pic on the cheap look for a G90.

I haven't been able to find any pictures of the 1208 in action yet. Need to look more when. Get home. I've been impressed by the G70 abilities so far.
We shall see!

Seriously though, I had a G70 before I got my G90 and I wish I had never sold it. It was a great machine. Others could tell you better but I don't often hear of a lot of problems with the Sonys.

Sorry if I was unclear, I do not regret buying my G90. I love it. My G70 was really a nice machine, especially after Craig got done with it. For what I sold it for it would have been nice to just keep it. I sold it to a close friend who loves it as much as I did. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't have went through all the fuss of working my way up to a G90 I would have just waited and bought a G90 to begin with.

I see a significant difference in brightness and overall picture but most people don't realize I even made a change. It impresses the hell out of me though (the wife too) and that's all that matters.

The G70 really is an excellent machine. I had mine pretty damn tweaked so it probably wasn't too far off yours with Craig's calibration, and I loved that machine... Other than noise (and burning my green tube slightly from playing a game on it), I had no complaints whatsoever. But, I would think there would be a significant improvement in sharpness going from G70 to G90... Probably not noticeable all the time, but I would think it would be especially noticeable with good Blu-rays on stuff like fine detail in backgrounds in wide shots, actors' fabric clothing, film grain, etc.
