I guess I'll have to snap a pic...but, before I do...let's see if anyone has any thoughts.
It seems like I may get a sweep of raster noise which shows up as something like streaking. Only lasts a second or two and then its gone.
I initially thought it was only in mixed bright/dark scenes. But it may happen at any time.
After the projector was on a few hours, it seemed to dissipate. EIther that, or I didn't notice it anymore.
Is this a Barco thing?

Ben, is this is the streak you are talking about during dark scenes that shows up (only) at the top of the image?

I could never dial it out. I worked around it by minimizing it as best I could and then put up a black velvet border around my screen. I project the crappy part onto the border... problem solved.

that just might be it...I think it might move too.
I redid G2...I'll watch some scenes tonight and see if I can pinpoint it a bit more.

I'd be interested to see a video or photo of what you are experiencing. I have had a Cine 7 for a few years, and i did have the normal horizontal black streaks which was more dependent on input source than anything. I have recently replaced the Cine 7 with a Zenith 1200x that i got from Curt

If the band/streak you see is only at the top, as it is on mine, the dark band will move with the blanking control. The G2 control will adjust the height of the dark band. The band does not start at a bright spot, it is uniform from left to right. In my prior thread, the output of my Playstation3 is in dim mode when I took that photo of the green tube.
As indicated earlier, I don't see the problem on my screen anymore because of how I worked around it. With the upper blanking control fully open (and left fully open all the time), I project this image from AVS HD 709 disc:
and then adjust such that the visible part on the screen is at the 5% overscan marks for 1080i (2.5% for 720p) and the remainder spills onto my black velvet border. The left/right/bottom blanking can be used as it doesn't affect the location of the dark band.

One thing I seem to notice...the issue or streaks or whatever it is I see...seems to happen more often, or is more obvious at 480p than 720p.

Ben, any chance your video source is the problem? I could bring my Fury2 and PS3 over to try it on yours (now that you know mine doesn't streak). Just throwing the idea out there, not sure if it makes sense as you've probably used the same source gear with past projectors you owned.

well...the last few nights, with 720p...no real streaking. No big problems. Seems to be more of a factor with 480p. And I'm not sure I would go back to 480p considering my new bigger screen size.
If it creeps back into play, I'll look into it more.

My Cine 9 does the same thing at a couple resolutions. Change the timings to move the image in the raster so its lower.

interesting...with my new screen, I already had to do that. Maybe it was resolved by this...
I had previously done a floor mount so I had to place the image up high...now I'm doing zero keystone just behind the seating area....good tip!

You still need the image centered on the tube face.
