|

Ok I recently got a vidikron vision three(marquee 8110+) and the lens on it make the image too big for my screen size
I need to know are there other options or not?
If yes please list them
Thanks

Not without moving my couch which is a sleeper sofa and hard to move plus the projector is on a table and it doesn't have casters
Also if I were to move my couch closer to the screen it would put it at a not so good viewing range(too close to the screen)

I looked at the manual and I may be able to move the projector in front of my couch and off the table(which would be great as I could add a second row of seating(I wish I had read the manual sooner dang it)as soon as I can move the projector I will update
I do wish I had got a marquee sooner though really nice set

Why would you need to move the lounge closer? Just move the projector.

i didn't know how close the projector needed to be t the screen till i read the manual(thanks to curt for having all the manuals on the site)after measuring my screens worth i found out how far i needed the projector(which is about six feet closer or more then i have it now)
the plus side is i can keep my ecp setup as it is and let my cousins play games on it(if i don't wan't to use it) so i don't have to worry about the risk of burn in on the marquee(which i can put on a cart on the floor if i needed to move it)
now i have work out my cables for power and signal

Well I tried it in front of my couch and it made the image too small so I put it back where I had it
I am going to be changing it to 9 inch tubes in the future and will get different lens that will work with my screen
Any suggestions on the lens choice for the 9inch tube change over when I am ready
I don't mind using the tubes in the set as I have it as the greent tube already has uneven wear and I am mostly watching 16:9 content so it works as it is and I don't mind some overscan

I was wondering the same thing... but for different reasons. My Marquee 8500 has Delta HD 8 lenses... When I had my old Sony, Deltas were pretty low end.

Not to spoil the fun of changing/ rebuilding, but is it not better just to buy a low hour 9500LC Ultra, i bet they come pretty cheep, and cheeper than buying parts to change yours into a 9"
Thats unless you got the tubes and whatever is needet already.
If you would like better contrast, and much less leak light around the room, i can recomend douing what i did to my 8500

I'm converting my 8 inch AC blend with HD 144's to a 9 Inch LC set up and to my surprise the size is almost exactly the same.
You have to max out the phosphor use then move the PJ to fill the screen you have. if physical location dont work then you ned a screen to fit the size of the image.
Lenses won't affect size all that much from what I have seen. And from memory when I went from HD 8's to HD 144's I had to move the PJ Back about 8 inches.

My electrohome Ecp has HD-10 lens my nec 10pg has HD-10L lens both work great with my screen at the throw distence I have my set at
My vision 3(marquee8110+) has HD-8 lens and the manual lists HD 147 lens now I do plan on getting the stuff to change it over to a 9500lc and once the8inch tubes are worn I will go to lc optics with the 9inch tubes
Also I have the width of the raster maxed within the safe distence of the tube face with 16:9 and I get about a foot of overscan on both sides of the screen and about half a foot at the top and bottom

How did you do that as I may do that to both my Ecp and my marquee(till I change it over to 9inch tubes and lc optics)

I agree I have noticed a difference in the lens construction between the HD-10 lens on my Ecp and the HD-8lens on my marquee
Now for me to update the thread I told curt my screen size and he said to move the set towards the screen about 2 feet
I will update tomorrow

what was your ecp again? all ECps I have seen have had HD6 lenses, or 144/145 ones. these you can adapt to marquee with lense adapters. I am using PT65 lenses from an old sony in my 7500 (8110), they look sharper to me than any HD8.

The lens, man! You consequently stated that your ECP is equipped with HD-10 lens which is usually on 9" LC machines, so highly unlikely on a 7" AC machine.
