Something between a soft crackling noise and a high tune whistling in green tube. Anyone have an idea what's the failure?

About all that can cause that is a bad HV lead. I've got new ones at $25 incl shipping.

Hi Folks,

the squeak irregular noins is coming from the area where the Splitter is mounted.
Maybe from the Splitter maybe below..

And a lead is able to cause that noise?

Hi,

yes i am.

But i didn't buy it on ebay. I picked it up

And it seems to be a nice Marquee except for the strange noise in the area of the splitter/green tube.

Sorry for your bad experience with him.

Might be related to the glycol leak, or the other hvps instaled.

Remember u need a new green tube if u like a decent Picture for normal 2D movies.

Try find out where the leak was, and what boards got showered., there seems to have been a lot of stuff wrong with this projector, and looks like it continues with u..

How come you have 2 usernames.?

Hello

With the projector OFF, confirm that each anode lead is secure in the splitter; you should feel the connector click into lock like a bnc plug; use long needlenose pliers like a wrench in the indents on each plug. The splitter itself could be leaking, check it for pinholes.

The anode leads or the plugs can also leak.

Call the seller and ask what happened, and find out what boards got wet.

Also it was listed as defect in one of the 5-6-7 listings he put up on ebay.. Think it got another HVPS, the HV cable from the HVPS looks much more dirty than all the rest of the machine.

Maybe it would be a good idea taking this projector apart and get it cleaned verry well , and inspecting it all around.

in that case id be doing what stridsvognen suggested and clean the boards well!!!... I've dismantled my marquee (had never even seen one before getting mine) and cleaned every board very well using denatured alcohol and a soft toothbrush ***take your time there is no rush**** (we call it mentholated spirits here in Australia) well actually the only board i didn't clean smoked up on me Smile if your unsure of its history i'd defiantly be doing this!!!

Yes, it is. Smile

I cleaned up all leads again but thoroughly and the noise was gone.
The boards should be all clean.

After all I am going to do some HD-mods from Dragam before it will be ceiling mounted.
