|
|
Im just doing some setup here, ive got the machine back just a touch further than the Barco lens program says, and the tube face seems almighty full...
Is this normally ok on these machines?
The image there doesnt fill the width of the screen by about an inch each side, so it is a touch wider on the faces.

Well, it's not centered right... I think only the NECs are so picky on raster size, so you should largen the image unless you go off the tube (on the left there is some more space to fill in -as I'm seeing from here, though I'm quite far away )

It is centered, just took the pic off center which causes that look.
Im setting up 16:9 at the moment and there is alot more free space at the sides with that.
Amazingly enough its not like the NECs where you will probably re center the raster after adjusting convergence, but then the convergence system on this machine is sh*t compared to the NEC system. The NEC has much more control, or certainly seems to.
Id be interested to know why the image is shimering though, would this be a product of the contamination present in the blue tube? All 3 are doing it, at varying rates depending on whats on the screen. Its on 1080i at the moment.

Nooooo, the cine 9 is the machine that has the best convergence system ever, didn't ya know?
As for the shimmering: Isn't there some menu option for setting the signal clamping?

What screen are you using.? 16:9, or 4:3.?
Ill also say its not centered right, and if your using a 16:9 screen you need to make the raster bigger.
Dont you have a aspect ratio test pattern you can display, so its 100% sure how close you are on the left side.?
Dont you get visible scanlines running 1080i?

It is centered perfectly in both X and Y. Screen is 5:4, and the image seen on the tubeface was not filling the screen.
No scanlines visible from where i sit, my eye sight isnt that good.
Here are some pics from the bluray player.

Can hardly hear the fans, the buzzing sounds it makes at certain images is abit of a concern!

You know, the Barcos are programmed to blow up if you insult them. Careful what you say...

Does the panasonic got any color calibration settings ?
Otherwise the Cine 9 has the options like D6500 inside to calibrate correctly.

Not that i know of, i always left it alone and used the projector, in this case itll be hard to get right cause the blue has a contamination issue and wont go completely black. Also taking the pics with the iPhone 4S as well. Which levels do you think need to change? Do you know what they all do?

Cheers mate Still yet to adjust the astig but im getting around to it all.
As it turns out, im using more tubeface than the previous owner, which is giving me a band down the sides that is ever so slightly brighter, not that it matters cause at some point they left the start menu of a yoga DVD on the screen and its burned in bad enough to see it on the screen. Although it wasnt listed in the auction, its pretty plain to see when you look at the tubefaces so i find it very hard to believe they didnt know it was there.
