I walked into our local HiFi store and demo'd the new $25K Sony 4K television. It was stunning.. Too small a picture for my taste. But the picture was like you were standing outside walking on the beach..
There are YTube clips right now that you can download in 4K.. Shot with Epic 4K cameras.
Taking a Nvidia Titan or GTX780 will get you the output to TWO G90's blended Correct?
Has anyone started down this path?
To get a large screen 144 inches wide (not diagonal) with two G90's blended is the question?
Screen size at 22:9 would be 144 x 59...

You can probably do it with 1 if you go interlaced. If you were going to blend and expect 2160p youd probably want the tubs on their sides and the yokes rotated 90°

What bandwidth would it take to run 4K i at 60 or 72 Hz.?

approx 4300*2250*60/4+ some percent for the blend zone so 160mhz or there about.

Ahh.. well that sounds like possible, but someone did say 4K i on 1 projector, so i just wondered how the math worked on that.
I cant emagine being able to handle the bandwidth and resolve 4K on a blend with 60 Hz progressive.
4K i on a blend.. ill belive that can be done.

the it`s divided by 2 but even interlaced is a much too high bandwidth for 1 pj to get decent mtf.

dvh99 you listed 4300/2250. What about 2100 to 2160? Has anyone pushed a G90 up to 150khz?
We are laying the groundwork for what is around the corner.. The new Sony PS4 is 4K... So in December that will be available.

I guess the PS4 will be able to downscale to 1080P, so why worry about 4K on crt, like most 9" CRT cant resolve 1080P 72 Hz.
I can emagine that a 9" blend can benefit from the higher resolution, and downscale it to whatever resolution the projectors can handle to resolve at minimum 72hz

Who says most 9" cant resolve 1080p? Maybe the old ES focus ones...

I've got a pair of Mike Parker heavily modified ceiling-mounted Marquee 9500 Ultras, used in a blend, that can most definately fully resolve 1920 x 1080 x 72 hz. A number of people who post here have witnessed this with there very own eyes. Hell, MP himself might even chime in here to this effect................

I just instaled all the latest MP boards, so i dont say that its not possible, but what other crt machines resolve 1080p 72hz like a Marquee, or better?

Craig has his G90 running 1080p/72. I would expect that a Cine9/909 would also be in the running but that would likely be it.

I can not coment on other than how the Marquee do it, but what i read is that the Sony and marquee have the bandwidth that gets closest, but the barco 909 is far behind in bandwidth

Would be ironic if the Cine9 can't resolve 1080p/72 considering the cost at which they change hands.

Word on the street is Sony is currently fighting in house on 4k and its copyright protection and its players/projector systems.

Guys I hate to be a bubble buster but last time I seen specs on the ps4 the games are NOT in 4k just movies so 4k shouldn't be a worry yet for us gamers
Don't belive me google search it or go to the Sony website trust me no games will be 4k as of yet(1080p at the most which most sets will lock onto including my ecp4101 even if the tubes can't resolve it good)
4k games will be the future but it may be a while(most gamers still have a old 4:3 crt direct view tv due to space)
Me I game on my projector(no small screen for me no more after playing gran trusimo 5 on a screen where it feels as if you are really driving the car and yes I have steering wheel and pedal set just for that game) I love that there is no lag(I noticed some on my dlp projector which sucked)
