After an incredibly long wait due to the pathetic incompetence of the shipping company the monster the is the Cine 9 is here. Aussie_Al come round last night to help carry it inside, and will return on Saturday to assist with installation after we remove the XG.

The sheer size of this thing has to be seen to be believed, its incredible. Loads of space around the tube necks, all very clean and tidy inside. Also very quiet when its running.

The blue tube seems to have an issue with contamination, it is quite abit brighter than the red and green.

Yeah mate, will have to swap in a new green and blue at some point, extremely light and large wear on blue and light wear on green. Very large pattern but in 16:9, so wont be an issue for movies, its the text wear that i can see on there that bothers me, for gaming i couldnt care less, but movies i will see it.

I cant see an easy way to get the green tube out, i took the front cover off and pulled out the camera, but i cant tell if that large tray slides straight out without anything inside the set being disconnected or not. Apart from that the blue looks as though itll be very easy to remove and replace.

Has anyone ever swapped tubes out of one of these with the set on the ceiling?

Laughing haha!! I havent measured it Wink And i probably wont either, cause i got my power bill 3 days ago and i was $259 in credit, even though ive had the AC on alot cause its so cold at night and been using the dryer and hot water booster cause its been so wet.

I can afford to waste power til the cows come home, its all free from the sun Wink

We might have to catch up in PM at some point and see if we can reduce your consumption down abit!!

The tray should slide out without any problem. The only connection you might have to watch is a cable to the IRIS camera which runs to the control board but since the control board on those things is also in the tray that's probably not an issue.

I am assuming its the convergence tray under the tubes??

Do you have the port 3 cable?

Its not a standard serial connection you need the right cable. The port 3 board is largely unchanged from the BG801s all the way to Cine9/909. I think the resulting image via that board is good others may not. I guess you will be able to judge for yourself.

Yes i have the 15 to 9 that comes with the HD Fury 3 for the Barco Port 3 input.

I have 6 parallel runs of quad shield RG6 going down to the wall outlet for RGB-HV and compost video, which id just as sooner use for the PC and my game consoles if itll be all the same, i updated the H/K amp ages ago so itll pass through the HDMI 1.4 signals.

Was it shipped with a roadcase ?

Does the projector had any errors/bad boards in the past or still in it's original condition ?
