Hi,
I'd like to maximise my tube usage. Does anyone know if I can adjust the trim pots to the prescribed voltages for a 1080p signal?

The image on the tube face still has a good 3/4" on each side of the image to the edge. (Raster already off the tube face.)
My porches are pretty small, 14 and 28 I think. And I've max'd my horizontal amplitude to 100%

Curt had put up this procedure: http://www.curtpalme.com/NECXG_Layout1.shtm
-Which I followed, using a 480p signal. The settings were already close to ideal. On one hand I was disappointed I couldn't make it any wider, but happy that after all these years my set was cranking on spec values.

But what I did see was that when I put in a 1080p signal, the voltages on both test points dropped down. (And the image becomes narrower on the tube face too.)

Here's my measurements at 480p and 1080p:

-----------------IC5306--------------TP5302
Ideal----- <=4.5V (+/-.05) -- 7.5V (+/- .1)
480p ---------- 4.35V ------------- 7.50V
1080p -------- 4.25V ------------- 7.27V

The procedure says to use a 480i signal. But other posts I've come across simply say to run in the signal you'll be using for the projector and set your voltages accordingly. The posts I've found hark back to 2001-2003. I think 480i (line doubled) would have been the norm.

Anyone able to tell me if setting the voltages to spec with a 1080p signal is fine?

'cheers
Sim.
