I was just wondering. I have 2 pair connected to the Adcom box and am driving them with my yamaha m80 amp. I noticed when I turn off the protection switch on the adcom the speakers "brighten up". I assumed it just dropped the load down to 4 ohm ? Am I correct in that thinking ? The reason I want to know is because the Yamaha has switches for 2,4,or 8 ohm loads.
I normally since it running through the Adcom box just leave it on 8 ohm but was wondering since I turn off the "protection" and ASSUME its dropping to 4 ohm should I then change the load selector on the yamaha to 4 ohm ? Or am I thinking about this all wrong BTW I LOVE the adcom box, It is sweet ! The only drawback is it is limited to 250 watts.

I have a GSF 4 that doesn't have the protection Button. But i was using all Adcom amps that can handle 2 ohm loads. And I only had 3 pairs of speakers that I hardly ever used all together.

Like I said I love Adcom amps. Simple design and built like a tank.
