It was a happy day unloading the original Sony packing crate. I bought it from the original owner. The unit was manufactured 6/2002 There is good and bad news... After letting it sit in the house for 24 hours > she runs with no error messages. I couldn't wait to get the hours... She has 2181 hours.... Put the PS3 on 1080P, it sync'd up to it quickly. The bad news is>> somehow the blue lens arrived with a 2 inch scratch across the surface.

I called Curt and he is checking for a lens. I will pair that up with a new Dallas chip.

Has someone wrote a quick convergence/setup guide for the G90... If not I will start reading the manual.

It's been awhile waiting to get this machine, My Mitsubishi has served me well..

I'll post a few pics a little later.

Where are you located? You might want to get Craig out there to turn it into a CIR90.

I travel everywhere Smile

Did you buy the projector from Curt? If he doesn't have a lens I think I have one good one out of a damaged set that I could let go (since the other two lenses are damaged).

Don't follow the manual exactly. Just start by setting up the primary scan rate you are going to use (most likely 1080p 60Hz). Save that to the master memory (hold down save for 15 sec and then save registration and then focus). That will become your base memory for additional sacn rates that way.

Craig, I didn't purchase it from Curt. It was thru a recommendation from one of my customers who had seen it up for sale.

Curt said that he thought he had a lens and was going to get back with me. I do need one..

What is the output frequency of a Sony PS3? 1080p 60Hz?

I know that your services are top notch. However, I want to get familiar with the G90 and work thru it.

A person like you could make a DVD setup guide for the G90.. Sign me up. The pro calibration would be on top!

Yeah, set the PS3 to output 1080p 60Hz and use that as your primary scan rate. If you are using any othe sources like sat or cable hopefully you have some way to just scale them all to 1080p. That way you will only really need to do the single scan rate.

Don't think I'll ever do a setup DVD... Wink

Craig, I have Direct TV and my HTPC.

To pay it forward. I have two Sony G70 manuals. One is the Operating Instructional manual, the other is the Installation Manual for Dealers. Let me know if anyone needs them.

Hal.

I would consider getting a video processor. I know it sucks having to put more money toward a pj but it will simplify things. Plus the performance gains are well worth it.
