|
|
Hi to everyone;
after a couple of years of quiet and stable working, yesterday my 1999 VLC/Marquee 9500 LC lost convergence settings. I switched off the Pj, tried reseating the CLM module a couple of times, powered on again the PJ and and it worked normally for about half an hour. Then convergence became unstable again; I powered off the PJ, but this time, when I powered the unit, all CLM lights started to flash in rapid succession and the PJ was completely locked: it projected no images and wasn't possible to power off the unit, without taking off the plug. I tried cleaning CLM module (and every other board), but nothing changed (all CLM lights flash and the PJ is unresponsive).
Any idea?
Thanks to all of you..

Push down very hard with your thumb on all socketed chips on the CLM. That should cure it. Bad IC socket contacts will do that, but pushing down on them should cure it.

Thanks; for the while I swapped the CLM with a spare one, just to be sure the problem was with that board, and yes, I can confirm it is. With the other CLM the VP works as usual (ehm, quite as usual, as it is an old board with an old firmware, but anyway).
I will try Curt trick, hoping It will cure my board...
(as Dennis knows, it's dvh99 Signature board !!).
BTW, Dennis, your lingo become more and more difficult any time ... what is "idd"?
I'm a little late, but anyway, I wish to any of you a wonderful new year

It was exactly one of dpb socketed chips and Curt's trick made the job
It was way easier then I feared... long life to Marquees and all the other bad CRT guys!!
