Had a few free minutes to begin a full setup on the PG10 today. Yank lenses...raster centering...blah blah blah.... What I have noticed is the projector just can't fully lock into a 1080i signal. The image is shaking vertically. 720p is fine and 1080p is with the exception of raster wrap. I'm not even interested in 1080p. I can't even display any of the resolution patterns with the AVS HD Calibration disc. All patterns show up as a solid field on each CRT. This machine should have no problem with 1080i. Any ideas?

Sony BDP-550-->HD Fury 2-->Extron-->PG10

Thanks,

John

My 9PG did that once, not really sure what fixed it, but all i did was check all the yoke connectors ( which i very much doubt to be your case ) and pulled the three boards out of the card cage, cleaned up the terminals and reinstalled them.

Have a close look at the caps on those three boards while you have them out, if they are originals, they really should be replaced.

1080i is a sweet spot for the PG10. It just purrs along forever at that resolution.

Check the caps, especially the little one's on the deflection board. Usually 10uF or less. There are a few known leakers.

Sweet. Thanks for the tip. Ill definitely start with the deflection board. I'm working on making a list of caps from the service manual.
