Hi all,

converged the Marquee completely but after some time watching convergence from red on green is way off.

Is maybe the battery on the CLM responsible for that ?

Blue on green is stable and without issues.

I have set the clock now for the actual date and disconnect completely from a/c. I'll wait some time to power the Marquee up again to see if it looses also the time setting. That would indicate that the battery is down ?!

thanks
ElTopo

Additional information regarding astig.

If i do astig for red it has a very weird behaviour. When doing for example the center of red just for 2 or 3 steps for or backwards red instantly looses focus. Red looks like if you never did optical or electrical focus.

Can the astig board go bad?

thx

Hello

It could be the "snap" phenomenon; update CLM R35 to 3K3 if needed. A dead battery would cause all parameters to reset if mains power were lost.

Is red and green converged when first turn on but drift after a while? if so
make sure you had all the LC housing bolts tightened after doing mechanical
set up I once forgot to and it took me weeks to figure out all the bolts were loose!!

Thanks.

Clock settings is still right after powering up again so the battery is ok.

Red on green shifts more like in the electrical way from one second to the other.

Tighten screws has to be done right but i don't think this is it.

Will check astig once more to see if it's stable now. The other stuff i will check is the CLM resistor.

Started the Marquee and red on green is lost again Sad

Blue on green is stable as a rock !

Focus on red is sharp as i set it up but conv is lost.

Any other possibilities besides the "snap" phenomenon ?

The CVA , try removing the red convergence coils to see what happens.

JUST THE CVA!!!! Not the VDM !!

Nashou,

could you please tell me where the CVA is ? Disconnect on the conv board ?

its the convergence output board in this pic.

Remove the connector for the red convergence coil. then See if the convergence moves at all.

I bet its that board.

Another way to make sure its the red CVA channel is to swap the blue and red convergence cables and converge.... but now red convergence will move the blue grids and blue convergence will move the red grids. then after your done if the blue grid drifts you know its the red CVA channel that is bad.

Understand?

Swapped the connectors but it does not bring success.

Plugged it back to the original position.

I did another test some minutes ago (with convergence done) and after approx. 20 minutes conv from red on green has shifted again and the red tube (which was sharp) has defocused. The only way to get the red tube back sharp is to do astig electronical again but there is some weird behaviour when i do this.

Hello

Put up a picture of the red-green grid when it jumps out of alignment.
