I am wondering if anyone has considered the Harry Potter inconsistencies. I just got done watching the series (again) and in the Chamber of Secrets and again in the Goblet of Fire we learn of the potion to change your appearance to that of someone else. This was used trivially by Potter's gang to infiltrate Draco's dorm (Chamber), and again by Barty Junior pretending to be Madeye Moody (Goblet). The apparent success of being able to do this seemed like a novel approach to infiltrate Hogwarts School, no? So why didn't Lord Voldemont use it to expedite Harry's termination?

Then in the Half-Blood prince we get introduced to the Vanishing Closet (?), which if used with another vanishing closet Bellatrix and gang were able to get into the school grounds even while protected. Again, why didn't Voldemont use it as well immediately following the death of Dumbledore?

I supposed by then JKR didn't want to wrap up the series too quickly, but then again I have no idea how far the films deviated from the books.

maybe Voldemort just wasn't that smart.

Stupid isn't an inconsistency - some might argue the very opposite.
