My friend recently bought a supposed to be mint 6 PG xtra, with only 2600 hours, with road case, two remotes, a set of cable etc. Today I was at his place to help him setup, and check the machine, so this happens when you crank up the brightnes and contrast for 2600 hrs. note the well did alignment...

TV/Projector: All of them!

It was more or less set up correctly according to NEC/Runco specs, but a static image will kill them every time.

If I had $.02 for every 'mint' projector I've been offered over the years... some by 'knowledgeable' people.....

The seller might have thought that as it is a CRT projector that the tubes should look like the screen on the normal CRT TV's people have when they are switched off, black not white. Wink Laughing

Good one, Dave. Smile

To revisit the story, it was about six or seven years ago. The ebay seller told me over the phone that when he looked through the lenses all he could see was white. He then sent me a pic, but with the tubes lit. Unfortunately this was with about ten minutes left in the auction. I took a chance and lost. Luckily, I bought an XG local with a bad system board for a good price. It had excellent tubes.

Yep, we did some crazy stuff back in the day to snag what we thought was a great 8 or 9 incher. I remember feeling bad about losing out on a $10K G90. Ended up paying $6,500 which at the time I thought I stole since it only had 800 hrs. Still needed a new green tube though, which the seller had to pay for.
