One of my customers gave me a 1252. I got the manual printed off (thanks to this website). I haven't mounted it yet, I'm working on getting the manual to make sense. Page 62 mentions if comer focus balance is off to check installation of projector. Is this talking about center and square to the screen or the mounting angle or maybe both? I don't see a section on shleimphlug either. Is this related?

If you're talking about the bullet on p62, it's referring to square-to-screen (yaw and pitch, so to speak). The 12xx has no Scheimpflug adjustment, and instead uses plastic spacers with preset detents to adjust plane of focus (or flapping as some call it). So, the projector MUST be square to the screen, and you must use approximately the correct throw angle.
If you're not using the throw angle in the "standard measurements", then you can use the "When Installation Does Not Comply with Standard Measurements" section, which you then basically use nylon washers or some other spacer to adjust the lens' plane of focus.
That said, depending on the specific 12xx in question, how many hours it has, and the source you're using, the corner focus may not be that much of an issue.
