I finally got a component cable for my ps3 so I decided to plug it in for some bluray Inglourious Basterds last night. I already have the electronic settings dialed in for the xbox on the first input so I figured I would just save that as the standard registration data and use it again for the ps3 input. Simple enough.
Following the directions from the manual, I went to service mode and tried to check my INT OSC PATTERN setting to make sure I was saving it where I wanted to. No such luck; I can see the SERVICE SETTING menu but I can't change or select INT OSC PATTERN or INT OSC MODE. It also doesn't show what is set for either option on that menu.
Holding down the MEMORY key for more than 5 seconds also doesn't give me the option to save registration data as the standard at all.
Is this something that could be caused by a faulty PA board, perhaps? I'm using a less-than-perfect one while my other is on it's way to Curt for repair.

Nothing to do with the PA board. Why not just run the PS3, run it, converge, and save the setting> Just do some basic adjustments to see if it will save. THe PS3 has to be on and running, and the projector should automatically save to a memory location.

Curt, even if it would do a simple save, he's trying to avoid having to converge the new memory location from scratch. He must not have ever saved all from the Xbox input block.

I don't remember what the D50 control panel looks like, or if it even has the MEMORY key on it.. But if you've only used the remote, try pressing the key on the control panel. Since you have to hold it down for 5 seconds, the IR remote can be finicky about the long press... If anywhere in the 5 seconds, the stream is interrupted, it starts over and the save doesn't work.

If the built-in control panel won't work, try fresh batteries in the remote and/or pointing the remote right at the IR window.

Just a thought.

I didn't think it would have anything to do with the PA board but figured I'd ask. I had the ps3 on last night and putting out 720p which the projector was displaying. I did a quick alignment which did save successfully but I'm hoping to avoid dialing in everything. I was mostly being lazy last night but now it annoys me that I can't change something I should be able to. Confused

I also found another problem last night which I didn't have (or notice?) before. When I play DVDs through the 360, the tubes shift slightly and the colors are odd. Everything seems slightly more red EXCEPT that on the right side of the screen I have an inch or so that's just blue followed by a band of just green then another that looks correct followed by the rest of the image to the left. It's not so terrible that it stopped my friends from watching a movie last night but it is keeping me from using my DVE dvd to work on the colors.

Good thought!
I was using the remote last night initially but I noticed that it would just keep flashing the saved dialog every few seconds so I used the key on the back of the projector which stayed down but still didn't work.
