OK a friend of mine had this in his system it died a he gave it to me.

Symptom at his house unit powered on made a "Pop" sound through the speakers no audio output.

I went over replaced it with a Onkyo TX Nr 616 all speakers worked fine.

I now have it in my home cover off, test fuses at f-751 and f-752 both test good with multimeter there is no output on the speaker lines speakers are known to be in working order.

The video output does work to a monitor, but face mounted screen does not light up.

On video out I can access the menus and have run the test for speakers, it rolls through the front r.c,l,rr,lr, no sounds at all from the built in pink noise generator.

Is it a re-boot to factory default to undo the tripped circuit?

Or is there another fuse/fusiblelink for the audio output section?

Can you hear the speaker relays latch as it starts up? Should be within 5 to 10 seconds after pressing power button.

Nope, nothing, no sounds at all.

Well, maybe, there is one click when I turn, it on but I thought that was just the power?

correct, but that was not working for quite awhile even in my friends house, and everything else worked.

If possible can you check the preamp outs to see if there is anything there?

Yes. What setting on the Dmm should I use?

Not with DMM. Connect to another amp/receiver and see if normal sound comes out of preamps.

yes. but that will take awhile. I will have to take it upstairs and "make room for it" in the theater rack, or dismantle the rack to swap it.

Nope, three surround pre-amps, multiple DVD players, blu-ray player, walk mans, 2 radios [no aux ins] 4 TVs, 2 marquees, but no other receivers or amps other than what's in the theater.

Ok. Well if you could check those preamp outs it would help with locating the problem. This receiver does have the jumper connectors on the back for 6 of the output channels, correct?

Also, how do you know when selecting speakers A/B what is on? If the display does not work is there a light?

Yes it does. I will pull the front right channel jumper and put the out put to my Bryston and see what happens.

Ok I did the swap. I put the NAD next to my rack puled the speaker wires from the Bryston pulled the XLr's from the Bryston, put the RCA input cable to the NAD then to the Bryston, switched to single ended input on the Bryston, swapped out the speaker wires so I could use expendable speakers, and pushed test on the NAD

Nothing.

Through the on screen menu on the monitor. And I have switched it back and forth too.

Sounds like you have two issues in the power supply. One for the display, and from what you're saying, the preamp section has died. I've never even seen this unit, so I'm of no further help, but if there are voltages stamped on the connectors from the power supply to the rest of the unit, I'd start testing those.
