of electronics of course Figured since I got the AVR 5805 finally done and IN the rack, it was time for a pic.

cables need to be organized yet, and the rack itself is getting torn out, to make room for 2 racks side by side, since I do not have room to fit all of my equipment.

Below is a pic with no flash, all equipment on. Currently in use is the cassette deck on the 5805 listening to some 80s

Spose I should add what components are currently installed. I'll start from top to bottom:

-2 3Com Superstack III 10/100 24 port ethernet switches (soon to be replaced with HP Procurve gigabit switches)
-Sony SMP-N100 Internet/Network Media Player
-To the left: Ubee Docsys 3.0 modem with Charter 100mb internet downstreat 5mb upstream, Netgear WNDR3800 Prototype router ( I was a beta tester for this unit)
-Denon AVR-5805 10 channel 170wpc RMS A/V Receiver. You name it, it does it, short of 3d 1080p video signals (which I dont need anyway)
-DVDO VP30 video processor
-Denon TU-604CI 6-tuner multizone tuner; HD-Radio & XM/Sirius ready (I got this for almost nothing brand new, talk about a deal)
-Denon CDR-W1500 CD/HDCD Player & CD Burner with optical, coaxial, & analog inputs & outputs for playback & recording
-Denon DRS-810 horizontal tray loading Cassette Deck - 4 Motor, 3 head, 1 belt (the best deck I've encountered)
-Toshiba HD-XA1 HD DVD Player
-Sony DVP-CX777ES 400 Disc DVD/CD/SACD player (only used for CDs/SACDs)

Not in the rack but thats why I need a 2nd rack:
-Blu Ray player
-Laserdisc Player
-JVC S-VHS player
-Sony VHS Player

Need to add:
-Denon DCM-5000 100 disc CD Changer
The Blu ray & laserdisc I currently have are a BDP-HD1, BDP-S300, & and Pioneer Elite CLD-59 LD player, they are all getting replaced with newer equipment, Blu ray will be a Denon BDCI-3800 (somewhere around that model I beleive), LD Player will e getting replaced with either a Pioneer Elite LD-S2 or Pioneer Elite CLD-95

Speakers that I use are the Jamo E8 Concert series, containing the E875 towers, E 825 rear surrounds, E 8Cen.2 center channel, E8SUB.2 10" 350W RMS subwoofer goes all the way down to 24hz, and lastly Jamo E7SUB.

The entire contents of the lists above cost me around $4000-$5000 over a few year period, the AVR-5805 retail is worth more than that alone, god knows I would never pay so much for a receiver, but I got the broken discount deal so it all worked out. I was previously driving the system with a Pioneer "Elite" (my ass) VSX-80TXV receiver. The AVR crushes it in all aspects

The only way to upgrade from the AVR now is separates

I have the very similar (except no power amp sections) Onkyo PR-SC5508P pre/pro and also really like it. Have you done a Audyssey Pro calibration with it yet? If not, you really should try it!

Also Boiler, how do you like the sound of your onkyo, I just got one yesterday, its only a 90s stereo receiver, but I am quite impressed with it. I also just bought an Onkyo TX-SR606 surround sound receiver broken. I'm hoping to be equally impressed with that one once I get it repaired.

Only thing about my 2 onkyos and yours, they don't weigh 100 pounds

I've had a couple of the Onkyo Pre/pros, and have been mostly pleased with them. Along with some of their larger receivers, they all have had problems with the HDMI input board and have a factory paid fix for them. Hopefully the latest model I have has the upgrade.

Also, all model previous to the 5508 had to be sent back to service center for firmware upgrade. PITA!
Probably the best thing about it is the $8 IPad app available for it. IT is fantastic and for the first time allows you to manipulate through all the available processing with feedback to th app. It is called Oremote.

As far as the Audyssey pro, I will never again go without it or something else similar such as Tact, etc. It makes a huge difference. If you have one of the calibration mic's, you will need the software and the license which comes with it. The whole process takes a few hours, and you can custom build your own curve if you want to play with it. I highly recommend you look into it.
