As the headline is asking i would like to know whos the dealer of JVC in Newton, NH 03858

Very interested to know what kind of store and service they have there, Its where my JVC X7 is imported from to UK. And ill like to be able to contact them directly, my UK seller will not tell me the name of the shop.

JVC Denmark told me that the serial nr of my unit was a dealer demo unit from US.

Why won't the party you bought your projector from tell you the name of the dealer they bought it from?

And have you tried this link: http://maps.jvc.com/dealerList/

No kidding. That situation sounds VERY sketchy to me. I would not be happy as a buyer unless there had been full disclosure up-front.

It is a difficult situation, but now i'm shipping it back for a repair or exchange, lets see how goes.

I bought the unit thinking it was a European JVC so it was covered from JVC Europe, but its from US and need to go back to US for repair or exchange.

What i learned from that.. ummm Always ask if it has been parallel imported.

And never buy digital projector from new again.

It for sure was 6000$ that got worthless faster then a candle can burn down.

I hate to say this, but I think the singular point that should be taken home from this is to buy your electronics from authorized dealers, or you roll the dice. I also hate to rub this in, but whoever you bought your X7 from didn't give you the best price by far...he made about $600-$700 on the sale. I know because that's the difference between what I paid for mine and what you paid for yours. At least if the seller were acting like a dealer and helping to fix this issue it would be understandable...but he took the money and ran, leaving you high and dry. You shouldn't be dealing with all this, he should be doing it for you. That's what you paid him that money for.

Notice that the local dealer price if i bought it here in Denmark 1 year ago would be +3000$

Different tax and vat.. Its not that easy to compare it with US prices. It was at the time the cheapest JVC price in Europe..

But not without a catch.. I have contact with the seller, and he is going to make the shipping from Uk to US and helping out, but it has not been possible to get any sort of information about what was ok convergence tolerances. And all have been asked to the US seller mentioned above.

I've already said my piece about what one can expect from buying from a non-dealer who has purchased from a dealer outside of your market. Sure, you save money, but this is the potential risk and price you pay - lack of support on a unit that should be replaced. I really do hope that you get this ironed out and you get a replacement unit, but frankly if I were that dealer in NJ I'd ask for a receipt or send you packing.

Be sure i'm aware of the issue, and it will not happen again, next time ill find a brand who support the product directly from the factory, no matter how its sold.
i'm sure the US dealer will give me the same service as all other US buyers have got, replacing the X7 with a new model with a better bulb, fully working CMS and decent convergence. Very Happy

I have no complains about the US dealer, like i never shipped the unit to him. YET.. So far i'm just curious if anyone know the company and what level of service they provide.
