Hello people!
I'm new to this forum, and yesterday i aquired a Monstrous jewel!
I bought it from a man in the netherlands that does television repairs and has connections with various Sony plants around the country.
He dragged this little monster with him from one of there basements. They only used it for a few demo's but praticly it was brand new.
The guy didn't figure out how to work it so he sold it to me for a bargain price!
Now, after some fiddling and adjusting i managed to get a crystal clear image out of the 7222 PSE. At the moment the image is projected at 80.7" and after finetuning and reajusting the tube lenses it is a crystal clear as ever. even without a screen it produces a very good image!
But, i've got a few questions to ask.
1. I know of the "Master control panel" underneath the casing, i've seen it and got some clue's what all the knobs are for but is there someone who can tell me where they exactly are for? or is there a manual out there?
Mine sadly came without a manual,
2nd. I noticed the 2 rca audio out. No problem there, and also 1 audio in. No problem, i think it simply accepts 1 channel and reproduces it to left and right. Am i correct? Just wondering if that actually is a mono plug or maybe it can accept stereo inpute with a different RCA plug.
I'll post some pictures when i'm at home, the beast really is a beauty and the sound works great! Tubes have no wear at all, i opened it up, no cleaning was needed. It was crispy clean from the inside, only the outside was a bit dusty!
I'm so lucky this one came from Sony, they haven't used it much and took good care of it. Except for a few small scratches in the wood but hey....
Maybe someone can tell me something more of this beast? cause the 7222PSE is hard to find on the internet, especially if you are looking for some extra info or a manual, or even a place where to find new tubes for the future.
Any idea's info and other usable comments are welcome! =D

Thanks for the tip but that section does not contain any manuals for the 7xxx series. only the 722 which is a much later model.

Well if you open up the DPF's of the 722 series you can clearly see it is a complete different model and model number.
This one clearly has a model number KP-7222 PSE. The KP-5040/7200 shared one and the same user manual, but it is not applaceble with this model. And the 722 is (by the looks of it) somewhere early/mid 90's or later. while this beast is from 1983

The 722 was produced in 1983 and 1984. Same year as yours. And my guess would be that your 7222 was merely the coding because of the cabinet. I would look at those manuals. The layout may not be exact but I'm betin the controls and such are the same.

Over here that was called a KP5020 or KP7020. I don't think there's anything on this site for it. I sold 6 of them that I got from a rental company into sports bars back in 1988, they worked forever...

Nice projector! One of the old vintage CRT Projection TVs!! A friend I have used to have an old Pioneer CRT Projection TV, it had a curved silverscreen and a mirror that flipped open to reveal the CRTs,
was quite wild looking and FLIPPIN HUGE!!! I tried getting it from them about 10 years ago, but they had already given it away. 
Neat score!!!

Sadly with this one the silver screen was missing, but i have 2 huge white walls, and i managed to calibrate it in such a way that the picture is practicly undistorted except a few tiny curves in the top corner, but unnoticable with regular movies.
This week my Philips Laserdisc player arrives, really looking forward to checking that one out to! and hooking/building up the rest of the AV system, still need to solder the correct 75 Ohm high grade coax Cable with golden BNC and RCA connectors.
But we needed 2 people to lift this beast inside, it barely fitted in my car!

Curt, i ordered one of the manuals for it, if it is the correct one, would you be interested in it? I've got the one for the 5020/7200 as well if you like. Since your site pops up as one of the first for sony CRT manuals. They are in PDF format.
