Is there anyway to turn off Blue defocus when doing scheimpflug using the H pattern on the g70?

I did the scheimpflug with the ME pattern within MG focus because I could not find a way to turn defocus off.

say your defocus blue is -5, just compensate back by +5. The slight defocussing shouldn't affect your scheimflug much by the way.Anyway you need a very slight defocus blue 3-5% to achieve uniformity of grey scale.

Where do you go to change the defocus setting?
Thanks

There is no default focus/defocus setting, each machine is unique in that regard.

You can disable Auto-defocus by pushing the MAG button twice. at least I think it is that button Wink All I know is that there is a button. You will see in the lower right of the screen "Defocus" toggle on and off.

However not all frequencies Auto-defoucs. There is a chart in the manual that will show how much red and blue de-focus is applied at each frequency. P4 and above have no defocus applied if memory serves me.

I strongly recommend using the phosphor grain technique for scheimpflug.

That way you don't need to worry about focus either optical or magnetic.

I picked up a 7X Nikon (7x35).

What I found is anything above 7X magnification would not focus very well at near objects closer that 12 ft. Just go to your local sporting goods store and try them all out focusing on near objects. Use a distance representing your PJ to screen.
