I'd get a cheap line doubler (I've got some DVDOs for $25) and run the Xbox into the doubler, then feed the RGBHV output to the Runco.

Hello,
US Xbox 1 can do 480p 720p and 1080i. 480p on 99 percent of the games and some are really rendered (not scaled) in 720p and 1080i. European xboxs need the "Xbox-Video-Mode-Switcher", or a mod chip or a softmod.
Just put some bnc to chinch adapters on your CRT input board, and your machine should accept it component (did it on a 701, non s). But without a vp the picture will be dim, especially without gamma
