All his for sale posts are dated from the first week of December, but the forum says his last visit was 11 Feb 2012 - 9 days ago. When was the last contact you had with him?

I last heard from him on the 7th. He said he was waiting for the check to clear, and he would contact me with tracking info. I waited till the 14th to pm him as the check had cleared the 10th. I understand we are all busy but its been quite a while. Just hoping everything is ok with him. I also sent another pm on the 18th just in case the first one was actually deleted.

OK, so he hasn't been back on the forum since you PM'd him - either time. I'd give him a couple more days, and hopefully he'll have shipped. I've sat on somebody's money for a week or so before I shipped. I hate to admit it, but like you said, busy and all. Gotta run here and box up, then run here to ship, then send email/PM... No excuses. Anyway, I'd probably give it a couple more days before I started getting annoyed that somebody was far worse than even me on getting something shipped. Wink

I am not to stressed about that. It is just odd compared to his prompt responses from before the sale. I understand that crap happens hell when i was sending the payment I addressed it wrong and it came back to me. I had to send it a second time and he was very understanding with my fubar. ( I felt like a JACK@#%) Laughing Well anyway will give it some more time.

Hey John, did you get your lenses? I've also got an outstanding transaction with him for a bunch of parts, and no word from him in about 2 weeks. No response to PMs either, and I've messaged him twice.

I did get the lenses but one struck me as odd one of the lenses is different from the other 2. The deal was for hd10gt17 lenses
But one of the lenses where it mounts to the tube assembly is just a lip with holes on the other 2 it is a machiened bevel of aluminum with the holes the ones that have the bevel have good labels that say they are correct the oddball I can't read the label is this correct for the lens or not?

Runco always took off all labels on the GT17 lenses, so that's possible.

Post a pix of it if you're unsure.

Can you PM me his email address? I had it, but don't know what I did with it. I'm a bit annoyed...

I would expect all 3 lenses to be physically identical. Doesn't sound right. Did you get pics of the lenses before they shipped?

Looks like a Frankenstein set of lenses. Def something odd there. The knobs on the middle lens (las pic) are different from the other 2 and the inspection dates are quite a few years apart.
What is odd is that the order #'s are identical yet the mount section is completely different. I'm going to assume the phlange section was not original to the lens. Not sure if it make much of a difference at the end of the day if all the lens elements are the same

Yup, strange indeed. It's possible that there was damage to the rear flange, and he changed it, but definitely that's not a stock flange on all the HD120s I've seen. About the only concern I'd have is that:

a) the internal elements are all the same. Just compare focusing in the corners between lenses, and the size of the image out of each lens

and

b) That it's not possible to smash the rear lens element against the C element of the tube.

If both check OK, then you should be good to go. If anyone has contact info for Vibe other than through the forum here, let me know.

Thanks!

I know I'd be pretty annoyed if that mismatched flange hadn't been disclosed prior to sale.

I assume we're not talking about a trivial amount of money. IMHO, the value of the lens set is somewhat less with the mismatched flange than it would be otherwise.

Pretty telling that the 3 lenses weren't shown together in the FS ad. No Paypal either. Shady character for sure and Vibe ought to do the right thing and contact the buyer to discuss an acceptable resolution. I would not be happy to receive a mismatched set of lenses without being fully informed.
