At Mike's request, his sub-forum here has been removed.

I'll let Mike explain the why's and how's if he wants.

Been very busy, for the most part restructuring some things to expand my work.

I'm still peeping in here almost everyday, but don't have the time right now to dedicate to participating more. And since most of the mods on the forum were discontinued, I saw no need to keep forum active and take up usable bandwidth.

I've not gone anywhere, and have not in any way giving up on doing mods. Just need to focus my attention somewhere else for a few, but will continue the mods soon.

The G90 mods are still on my to do list, to include my Marquee mods, which I'll be introducing another version of them soon (with pictures) with a very substantial change to both Contrast amp and switch circuits. Both have been replaced on the VIM, to include a few changes to the neck boards.

I still see CRT as being the best, and still will be working with both Marquee and G90. And you can bet on that!

Mike,

In January 2012 it will have been exactly 4 years since you first posted that you were starting on G90 and various other mods and then said every few months during those 4 years that they "would be available soon" or "next month".

I think you need to just be honest with yourself and say you don't have time and likely never will and that these mods will not see the light of day. Things change. That's fine - nothing wrong with that. I just don't think it's fair to lead people on this long with comments like:

And this is truly a shame because the mods represent a substantial step up in terms of performance. Every G90 owner will see a worthwhile improvement in the image. Unfortunately the fact is that as every year passes more and more pj's are going to be decommissioned as people move from analog to digital. Those who remain devoted to CRT, like me, will see the investment well worthwhile if only to give us an excuse to keep these noisy, hot beasts up on our ceilings.

Its clear from my experience with banding that more development is required to make things perfect, but I can understand that other priorities can and do get in the way. I don't know what is involved to resolve this problem but from what I've seen so far I would definitely encourage you to make a final push for a fix.

Thanks Haydn for your comments here, and what ever I can bring to the improvements, it will happen. But it will have to happen as I go along. And many do understand and appreciate that because making the G90 or any other CRT projector better was not my responsibility, it was a project and a goal. One that I would never put before my main responsibilities. So that's why it has taking so long, and for the same reason that the actual promised mod has been done, and you can attest to that (you have them). So anything I've chosen to do from here on involves me first dealing with my priorities, second; getting back to the two mods I had mentioned.

And maybe as I'm able to put perspective and priorities in order, I'll even get back to the banding issue.

Or, and as usual, if anyone else wants to get involved in any of the mods, be my guest... and that way, no one has to wait on me..Mr. Green

Edit: If i was not clear earlier in the thread, I'll try once more in saying that the G90 mods are ready. They have been finished, but there for a period of time was a problem with them that caused a bit of noise in the image. That problem has been solved, they are now 100% flawless in performance, to include that can and will be made available soon. After I've finished all testing and received the good long term news from those also tested, it's definitely now time to move forward with them.

Now, in moving forward, I will not be the seller or contact person for the G90 mods. that person (who was also already mentioned in the thread) will announce that when this will all happen. They will be out of my hands at that time.
