Hi, I am going through my setup for my projector again. there are a lot of things i have forgotten. one issue I am having is lining up the test pattern for the static alignment. everything is zeroed out, and i have the horizontal aligned but the blue grid is just enough above the green that I max the blue vertical setting before it aligns with the green and the red is off the same the other way. I was thinking there was a manual adjustment somewhere but can't seem to find it.

also I am interested in using the pc control software to do the adjustments. I have a laptop with a 9 pin serial port on it but I do not know if it is a RS232c or a RS422 how do i find out and also it says to use it as rs-422 contact manufacture.... any ideas? thanks

you need to align the guns in the reference adjust mode...have you done this?

Or...conversely, perhaps you need to move the green to it's max upwards.

not sure what you mean by "reference adjust mode" I have went to align and used static to try to move the grid but it reaches is max before they align. they are dead on left and right set to 0 but off vertically... oh and I got my control cable made and it works great with my laptop. Smile

Youre meant to use static for very minor tweaking, not for full on alignments!!

yeah i thought so that's why I was not wanting to try to adjust it there but it has be several years since i last set this thing up. at one time i probably could have just about quoted the manual from memory and gotten about 3/4 through the set up process in my sleep... I have been reading the manual again but it is a lot to read.

go to service menu...password 3151, go to reference adjust and raster centering. THere should be plenty of range to get them back to normal.

I might be wrong on the password...just do a search and you'll find it.

Thanks I will give that a try... i guess what I am doing now is just a temp theater. my wife wanted something set up before her family came to our place for Christmas. I think I have decided to do a stack with a pair of xg's and use a rear projection screen. I will probably start on this after the first of the year....

Well I tried to center the raster but I can not move the colors independently from each other. This does nothing for me. Because to matter how I move it the blue stats the same height above the green and the red stays the same below it. How do I move them separately?

here is a pic with everything set to 0. the horizontal is not bad but you swill see the vertical is not close. it will get close using static but still more then a line width away.

Use the reference adjustment raster centering to get it closer. You won't have as much drift if you don't push the user controls as hard.

thx I have tried that but I can not move each color independently. So all I do is move that image around the screen. There is no way to get the lines closer..

If you go in it using the 3151 passcode then it will allow separate adjustment...At least mine does....Going in with a normal passcode they all move together.
