Ok, no joke!

I have bought a AC 8500 Ultra that is 1000 KM away from my home, two month ago. I friend of mine that lives close will pick it up, and than one day send it to me via a truck. He would prefer a visit of mine...
He is very busy and as time passes, I thought about asking the seller to send me the Ultra in parts, for some extra bucks plus shipping and material. It might even be possible to send the chassis for 30 Euros, but if not I should get one here someday. So, some boxes with boards, tubes and lenses. How are the chances that I get it back to a working Ultra again, when the seller takes lots for pictures before? Any other problems I have not thought about?

Thanks

Marc

Thanks, I feel better now. Might be a case for your lab, if I decide that the seller is able to do it, and willing to do! Barclay, do you own the capabilities for that project if I get in trouble? I only did work on C-Elements, chassis and minor stuff.

Update:

The seller is right, it is too much work for him to take the Marquee apart. My friend who lives close to just became father, and I do not want the seller to wait any longer until my friend picks it up. It would fell better to take pressure from my friend....

So, would a 8500 Ultra fit on the backseat of a E38 7 series BMW? Would it go through the backdoor? If yes, I would drive myself very soon. (Trunk should be filled up with a ancient 9" CRT, that I might pick up on the way).

That is a E38: http://www.google.de/search?q=e38&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:de:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=de&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=747&bih=442&sei=aGbWTvvEFs704QTD1ujDAQ

Thanks

I put a 909 in the back seat of my E300. The BMW should be about the same size back seat. I had plenty of room. Just measure your back seat dimensions to make sure.

Is the 909 really a foot longer than the 9500?

Well, the backseats are huge, especially if the front seats are moved forward. But the bottle neck is the door Sad
I have not seen a Marquee in person, but they seem to be shorter but more bulky than the long other projectors (Barco/Sonys/NEC).

Hi,

I don't think it will fit in. Why don't You drive over there, disassemble the Marquee into smaller parts and load them easily into Your car? When You're back it will be much easier to reassemble as You then know where everything goes...

I fit an 8000 in my back seat of my Mitsubishi lancer Evolution VIII. I put it it in on its side.

As Nash said, put it on its side. According to the specs, it is only 17 inches high.
