Hey guys,
Im hanging my friends 1272Q today and I need to know the exact thread and diameter of the holes in the projector for the bolts.
I'm almost ready to get it hung but I need to get the hardware for it first. so any help is appreciated!

When mounting your 1272 I suggest putting it on a firm surface. Dress yourself in a kilt ( these 1272's can get spooked by the sound of a zipper ). Sneak up from behind ( keeping the lens caps on can aid you here )....
A block and tackle can help as well to get you or your 1272 into just the right position.

Lmao AR, I hear ya there, heres a couple pics, One shows it hung, the other shows the image on the screen (please forgive the photo quality of my friends crappy phone camera)
The problem I am having is in picture 2, the horizontal image is all gibberish like, the photo explains it better. Anyone have a theory?

Looks like he took the kilt approach.... In other words, it's f*cked!

In a kilt, no less.... (Knowing Jeremy112 personally, that's a visual image I'd rather NOT have in my head....)

Bump, anyone have any ideas? I know this set is an antique but if it can last a few more years that would be great.
Would a capacitor not being soldered on one lead, on the horizontal deflection board be a cause for this?

J, try to resolder that capacitor first. I would bet that it's in the horiz timing or horiz flyback circuit & is the source of that issue. If I'm way off base, someone else might have other ideas, but I think that'll fix it right up.

I sure hope so, it wa sworking before we flipped it so it better be nothing serious, because I am NOT helping to take it back down

You flipped this PJ from floor to ceiling and it worked before the swap? Re check the plugs you switched for the tube/set inversion.

Jeremy, did you have any luck with the jitter? I had this once on a 1272 and using contact cleaner on the connectors going to the yokes appeared to fix it. Could be that or a cold solder joint on the board.

Hey Jerry,
I forgot to post my status on here! I did indeed fix the issue, it was a smalll 50v 33uf capacitor on the horizontal deflection board, it was broke loose from the contacts, all is well now, and the projector is working better than ever!
I do have to ask though, I have a 16v 1000uf capacitor that I have replaced twice now, it keeps doming and the capacitors I'm using for it I have been using in other electronics and I have not noticed any doming... could there be some other issue in the circuit that is causing this?

Well I would hope that your using a good quality cap.. You can increase the voltage of the cap if you have the room and see it that stops it. How quickly is it failing?
As far as to whether something else could cause it I would need a lot more info on what you have to answer that question.

the capacitor honestly seems to be mildly buldged after only 3 hours of use since replaced... The capacitor brand is Rubycon, which I thought would be a better brand than most ebay brands... like I said so far the rubycons of that exact same value that I have, have not domed or gone bad in any other electronics that I have here at the moment... so I don't know what the deal is....
I was also thinking of trying a larger capacitor to see if that would solve the issue. We will see if it comes to that I suppose. And as far as what I have, I don't quite understand the question.

I would question any capacitor not purchased from a very reliable source.
Because the same caps seem ok in other devices does not mean they are ok. There are many variables that would apply as a comparison.
Are far as me saying what you have, I meant I would need to know what the circuit design is, the operating voltage and such. This would be to determine if something else could be causing the problem. It's to hard to just say it could be caused by something else.
In layman terms.... it could be a bad cap, to low voltage rating of the cap or something causing to much stress on the cap.....
And I'm sure this didn't help answer your question, lol.
