Of the few people I knew that paid money to see this film, none of them said it was worth buying, and most said it wasn't worth paying the pillbox price to see. And yet, there is a sequel in the works and with a different director (obviously the first film's success felt it was in need of better chances at risky business).

How many of you have seen this movie and think it warranted a sequel? The economy must be doing strong for this to happen.

i saw it (admittedly on free tickets) and thought it was the mindless popcorn movies of mindless popcorn movies. but to truly enjoy it would have required better popcorn.

You hit the nail on the head. If some analyst says that based on the first movie, the risk is low enough such that investing in a second movie will turn a profit, they'll make a second movie.

Whether the movie's any good or not is irrelevant. It obviously has to appeal to enough people to turn enough of a profit of course.

I've seen it. It's ok. Pure popcorn. Leave your brain at the door. It's all about putting one "cool" action scene after another. It must work - look how many "fast & furious" movies they've made now.

I thought it was good. Mindless, but I didn't expect anything more than action scenes and decent acting. I paid the $1.30 at Red Box though. Very few movies are worthy of box office prices these days.
