WOW! Dr. Craig Rounds – Our G90 does 2D like 3D and 3D like Out of This World!

Well, I am thoroughly happy to say the G90 we purchased back months ago is finally up and running. Dr. Craig Rounds was here this past weekend and did his magic. Thumbs Up

The man is like a machine! He got the Moome card modified (gamma removed), 3D stretch mods on the G90 boards, had to drain some glycol from the green tube, installed new (color correct) green c-element, replaced Dallas chip, installed the Lumagen Radiance-Mini, calibration and set-up for every damn signal input under the sun, 3D set-up, got the OPPO correctly set-up, did back-ups for everything (Dallas chip, Lumagen settings, G90 settings, even installed new settings on old Dallas chip), and even gave me written “driving instructions” for the Lumagen. I now have a learners permit. Mr. Green

I am not sure that I have ever seen a better picture anywhere; top to bottom, side to side and corner to corner. Sharp as a razor! The colors and black levels are second to none. I say this with a lot of reservations as the only better (or equal) picture that I have seen is Craig and Cliff’s set-up. Those are really the “cream of the crop”. Thumbs Up

Craig’s knowledge of video is second to none. He has an uncanny ability to understand video and yet make adjustments to equipment to get the most of it. He uses his own test patterns and to-of-the-line equipment. He probably would have been done sooner, but as some you folks know me, I ask too many questions, and keep interrupting things. Just wish I could have ask about 1,000 more questions, but then he would be here for months.

Craig’s confidence levels in what he is doing scares me; really! He zips through the G90 menus and options like nobodies business. I am not sure there is anything he does not feel comfortable working on related to projectors. I wish I still had that “right stuff”. Getting old is hell……………… Sad

My wife says this is too cool!!!! She was kinda concerned about the 3D stuff at first thinking that it might give her motion sickness feelings. Didn’t happen!!! She is thrilled!!! She like me, thinks the 2D stuff looks almost 3D. Thumbs Up

She is inviting everyone over to see the projector (she knows me well; she wants everyone to see the picture before I screw it up Embarassed

I have been watching this projector for the past 3 nights almost until 2:00am everyday! I really still cannot believe I am seeing what I am.

Folks, if you have not met Craig (Dr. Craig Rounds as I call him), you really need to catch an opportunity if you have it.

Man, you guys are right. But, thankfully, it is SPOT ON for now!!! Convergance is perfect after about 20 minutes of warm-up! And I mean perfect!

I though you might say that about the 3D once you had it in your own home!!!!!!

That dude is flat out amazing and I also love to watch him fly through the menus of the G90 and Lumagen!!!!

Man you're not kidding, he is amazing. Craig stopped by and tuned up my little D-50 doing 1080i and made it sing. The picture is amazing. I don't know how he manages to get so much out of this little Sony.
