It is for a home theater device so it's not to far off. IT's a audio adapter/decoder that get's it's power through a mini usb connector. The other end of the connector cable is a full size usb connector that plugs into a xbox, ps3 or a pc for power. The question is, are all usb ports created equal? I want to use/connect this to my LG flat screen. The LG does have a full size usb port. Will that port have the 5 vdc that I need for the device? If that doesn't work, I'll have to order a 5 vdc usb wall wart.

Try it and fry it
Go for a powered USB hub with a 2 amp power supply. I see those cheaper than the 'proper' USB wall warts sometimes.

Ive assembled some gadgets with USB connections and as far as I am aware most USB ports all have 5vdc. If they didn't keyboards wouldn't work
Like analog said, try it and see what happens

If it is less than 500mA you should be fine.

The device is a Turtle Beach EarForce DSS. I just looked up the power supply specs and it lists 5 vdc @120mA.
Aftet looking at the specs for various versions of the full size USB connector, they all show the same pin-out (4 pin)
with the outer two pins being power and the inner two being data.
I don't know if construction for these is all the same but a quick glance of the socket tells me you DON'T want to attempt probing for power as the surround for the socket is metal. I doubt you could test it without shorting to the case.
So I gues it will be "turn and burn" or "burn and return" or something like that
