Does anyone know where I might find a set of operator/setup manuals, and serial link command codes listing for AMPRO 3300 units? This site only seems to have info on the Ampro 1500/2000, 2300/2600 & 3600/4600.

THe 3300 manual is so close to the 3600 that we didn't bother putting it up. PLease read the rules of the buy'sell section, which is why I deleted your post the first time completely, and while I edited it today.

Wondering why it got deleted, the only reason I could think of was my brief mention of ... - which I hadn't realized was a forbidden topic. Certainly wasn't a prohibition I'd have expected, especially considering I'm on the opposite side of the world. Don't see why the second attempt was a problem though, since I removed all mention of the forbidden topic.
So my questions for anyone remain-
- What's the best way to clean mold blemishes off the interior lenses? Without experimenting with different cleaners to find by trial and error which ones also remove the optical coatings.
- "The 3300 manual is so close to the 3600 ..." OK, but what are the differences exactly? I've no previous experience with CRT projectors at all. It would still be nice to get the _right_ manuals, so I don't have to keep wondering whether details are applicable or not. Call me odd, but I do like to have the correct manual. Comes from long experience repairing electronics instrumentation, and the troubles that 'not quite the right model/version' manuals can cause.
- Is the serial command set exactly the same for the 3300 v s 3600? Or are there some 'slight differences' I'll encounter when I try it out, that 'everyone knows about'?

I use lens paper and alcohol to clean them. I actually use impregnated lens paper, I bought the last ones on eBay for cheap. Also wipe down the tube face and the inside of the housing, as that mold is probably hidden there as well on the metal.
The remotes are different, but almost all the commands are the same. The setup method is identical between the sets for geometry and convergence. The RS232 codes are the same for all Ampros as well.
I should have a full 3300 manual here in hard copy. Probably $15 or so to get it copied plus postage if you want a hard copy, if you can't find it online. I'm guessing not too many people have them at this point.

Oh sure. I suppose next he'll want a factory mount instead of the usual dental floss and staples that everyone else uses to hang projectors.
You're OK in my book buddy. I think any one who wants the correct manual and will use it before they attempt to hang the projector deserves the manual.

Thanks! Yes, I'd like to buy that. How do you want to do it? Paypal? You've got my email address.
Funny thing is I used to have two factory mounts for these, but they got taken to the metal recyclers during a fairly ruthless cull a few years ago.
Never mind. If I do set one up, it will be for outdoor projection against a building wall for LAN parties. Mount will be milk crates. Maybe some baling wire if I want to get fancy. Could always weld up a new mount frame anyway.

The CPU board between the 3600/4600 and the 3300/4300 is identical. Only slight firmware differences. RS232 coding and all setup is the same. Main differences between the earlier and later models is the transition to more SMD components. Many boards will interchange between them all except mother board and horz boards. Maybe some issues swapping some other boards but usually minor.
I'm shocked Chip didn't suggest using the internal help menu for setup, LOL.

Am I that predictable?
That is the standard reply but I got flustered by someone actually wanting to read the manual first. Sorry, I won't let it happen again

OK, I confess. I have a chronic manuals fetish. Original paper, bound, with huge fold-out schematics... mmmm... such a high. Pure, sweet engineering bliss, uncut by any of the poisonous corruption spawned of lawyers, marketing departments, IP-rights and other such unholy evils and stupidity.
Hopefully no one ever gets video of me 'enjoying' my library of old HP and Tektronix test equipment op/service manuals. It could be highly embarrassing.

Hmm... I emailed the site's contact address saying 'yes please', but haven't heard anything back. I find there are various related electronic docs on the net, which will do. But I'd still like to take up Kurt's offer of a hard copy. If you see this Kurt, did you change your mind about that?

Curt doesn't check his PM's as often as he should so you'll have to do something to catch his attention. So start another thread with his name in it like Curt likes kiddie porn or Curt's gay or something really rotten like Curt's gone completely digital. That will get his attention

No, I got the email, but give me a couple of days. It was a long weekend here, so I didn't check emails, and didn't get time to check for the manual today.
