I stumbled upon this listing in CraigsList, and I'd SWEAR this is the address of an old boss of mine.
http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/ele/2562224511.html
They have an extraordinary amount of hifi for one location...and they want $4k for G90!
Thought y'all'd enjoy this one...
Cheers,
John
Detroit

They took down the CraigsListing for some reason, but a friend found it in an on-line estate sale listing.

I really wish I knew what happened to him...dude was a megalmaniac extraordinaire...not a manufacturer or rep around without a Rick Howard story...he was Detroit's version of Singer from NYC.

Looks like pretty much everything is way overpriced, by about 50%.
I do remember about 12 years ago when a company locally called Elite Audio went under, a high end A/V installation company. Everything went to auction, and their Ampro 4300 projector... with tube wear... went for $7300. Marantz DVD players went for $150, they were $400 new. The craze of people buying was insane... but the economy was a lot better then.

Come on, you guys are being way to hard on this estate. Who wouldn't want a Berkline recliner for $999? Well, except for the fact that Berkline went out of business and you could probably have bought one on sale for $200 more than their asking price. I got excited when I saw the Miele washing machine, but $1200 is about three times the going rate. You can usually get one on Craigs for $400 in working order. I got three for less than $200 all together. The Marantz pj is probably about double the price you could pick one up for. Hell, the Sony is probably the closest to reality after looking at these prices.

Well it all depends, the newest consumer grade Miele washing machine lists for €2699,-, streetpricing generally €100,- off (that's the price at the website of Dutch Electronics chain BCC). A nice 1600 RPM one is about half that amount. For 900-1250 euro you can only get 1000-1400 rpm machines. We just had our 14 year old Miele repaired for 220 euro (basically new shocks).

I am talking used. The smaller models from a decade ago are pretty inexpensive. I think the second set of shocks on mine are about to go.
