I have a Sony 1270. I am running video in with a Laserdisc with no doublers. I have a extron 108 analog device that runs a standard vga in to a RGBS output. All of my sources only output to a 4:3. Here is an example. My Xbox when set to 1280 x 720 gives me a compressed image that looks like I need scope lenses. If I was to get a moome sony card with the HDMI would this solve it? It is truly concerning me. Right now I am just projecting on a wall and have not invested in a screen. but if I install a 16:9 screen I would have movies looking fine, only to have a menu screen project off screen.

thank you

Use the RGB size controls and squash the image to 16:9.

That's OK, I asked this same question back in 2006.
