I am trying to get my 3d setup and I am trying to see if I am on the right path.
I have set 720p@96hz out available in the latest firmware.
I then changed the timing and had the vtot at 960 and changed the clock rate to just under the max on the xd to get the frame rate back to 95.90.
I then used the vertical shift on the projector to 100 as when you increase the vtot and leave 720 vactive pixels the image is shifted to far down. I then started adding to the vactive to move the image up so it is centered vertically.
Maybe instead of adding to the vactive I should manually tilt the projector upwards to fill the screen as I think this will leave the most pixels to prevent ghosting.
I really do not understand front and back porches. Maybe I should add or remove from them to center the image vertically.
This seems to be working as I have less ghosting.
Just wondering if I should tackle this a different way.
I need to perfect my convergence after lunch to see if the ghosting I am seeing is just convergence issues. I did a rough setup just to get it going.
I also have found 96hz easier to setup and 120hz seems to make my projector run hot. It works fine but seems to be getting a little to warm for my liking.
I am hoping the 3d master cir-engineering may chime in wiith some advice!

Wild,
One thing you can do on a NEC to get more vertical centering range is go into the reference raster centering...Note however this WILL affect ALL memory locations so you will need to adjust those also after you make any changes.
How's the brightness?...When I tried 3d the ghosting seemed like it might be acceptable with a bit of tweaking...But with my unity gain 92" wide screen the image seemed dark and kind of lifeless...no punch at all...And no amount of tweaking would resolve that so I gave up, I'm not sure my setup would work with a high gain screen.

I am using just blackout cloth screen. I have not touched my brightness and contrast. I am running 42 brightness 60 contrast and I calibrated with the cms from he lumagen and have almost perfect greyscale and color except my 100ire(not enough blue) and 10 ire. I think the meter cannot read them good enough.
I find no difference in the image with glasses on then off. I have a small bit of ghosting but nothing major. Avatar and open season 3d is unreal. I am so impressed.
The 3d is almost as good as my 3d plasma but so much better cus it is so big.
I am using the gen2 emitter and some cheap ultra clear ebay samsung glasses and they are awesome.
I find 120hz look a bit better than 96hz but the ghosting is worst on the 120hz. SO 96hz is better,
